Yunus Centre Press Release (12 June 2017)
Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus addressed the youths at ‘We Love Green’ festival attended by 27,000 young people on 10th June, 2017. He also participated a question answer session on the specially designed ‘Think Tank Stage’. Besides two large stages for music performance, We Love Green 2017 had a Think Tank Stage which was in the middle of the festival this year, where there were discussions held on the big changes being faced by our society. As its name suggests, the festival is powered with 100% renewable energy, and 100% of their waste is recycled and composted.
The youth engaged with Professor Yunus during the Q/A session at the festival which is co-organized also by the office of City Mayor of Paris. He called on the youth to take the challenge of building the world of their vision with their own hands. This festival puts the emphasis on music and eco-responsibility. It has become an unmissable springtime musical event in Europe. This year, the festival was held in the natural setting of the Bois de Vincennes, located on the eastern edge of Paris. It is the largest public park in the city, sprawling over 14 acres of natural wilderness . It was created between 1855 and 1866 by the Emperor Napoleon III.
During his visit to France, Mayor of Paris, Ms Anne Hidalgo organized a high profile meeting at the magnificent city hall. During the meeting, they reviewed the Olympic Bid of Paris and also about the preparation of Global Social Business Summit (GSBS) which is scheduled to be held in Paris on 6-7 November, 2017.
